About

The Friends of the Troy Public Library are an all-volunteer, member-supported 501(c) 3 non-profit that works to promote and support the Troy Public Library through volunteerism, donations, fundraising and advocacy. We create opportunities for the community to get involved and invested in the library by volunteering their time, donating funds and materials, shopping in our two shops or participating in special programs or events.

As community ambassadors, we partner with the business community to provide special programs and library equipment to connect with a broader audience. We are proactive in our outreach efforts to local and distant schools and organizations as we help spread literacy and education outside our walls.

The Friends raise money and we raise your voices. We believe that strong libraries build strong communities. Supporting early literacy, family programs, teen connections, job seeker assistance, senior programming and cultural enrichment is vital to a vibrant community.

Our dedicated volunteers, committed Board of Directors and generous members and donors are passionate about the importance of the library and its continued success in Troy. We welcome all who share our vision to join us in keeping the Troy Public Library an essential civic asset.
